Pre-Purchase Questions
-
Selecting the right device for a loved one depends on their hearing status and their hunting preferences. If they have a known hearing loss, we highly recommend our 90-level devices, which can be custom-programmed to their specific hearing needs. If they have normal hearing and are looking for protection and enhancement, the 60-level devices are a great option. You can also purchase a Gift Card if you’re unsure which device or pursuit they would prefer.

TETRA offers products tailored to specific hunting "Pursuits" (Waterfowl, Turkey, Range, etc.) and two levels of technology:
- 60-Level: Best for those with normal hearing who want protection and standard enhancement.
- 90-Level: Designed for those with hearing loss. It features 16-channel digital signal processing, advanced wind noise reduction, and ClearComm™ technology for better communication. We recommend choosing the pursuit you do most often.

While TETRA is optimized for the sounds of hunting, the technology provides excellent impulse noise protection. Our Shield series provides a high NRR (Noise Reduction Rating) and can be used for any activity involving loud, sudden noises. However, they are specifically tuned to enhance environment sounds, so they may not be ideal for constant, high-decibel industrial noise where standard muffs are preferred.

Most standard health insurance plans do not cover hearing protection. However, because our 90-level devices can be programmed to an audiogram, they may be eligible for reimbursement as a hearing aid through certain providers. We recommend checking with your specific insurance carrier.
