For Inspiration
"Dad, our 2018 season was one for the books. After a frustrating season, you reminded me that it's not about the harvest. And you were right. Although we did end up with two amazing deer, it's the highs and lows and time together that made it so memorable. Thanks for teaching me what really matters."

My mother taught me to shoot and I taught myself the rest. Hunting on my own for many years until I ran into other people with a love for the outdoors as I had. I have taken Elk, Bear, White Tail, Mule Deer, and Coyote. Hunted upland game all my life! I am now 70 and proud to say I have a Nephew that is following in my footsteps. We need, as hunters, to get more young people involved and educated as to the benefits of hunting and an outdoor lifestyle!!!!
My Dad introduced me to shooting first with the Daisy Red Rider BB gun. It grew from there to 22’s, shotguns and rifles with all with the point of being a safe, accurate hunter. We spent a lot of time shooting off a bench, kneeling, sitting, off hand or using a tree as you don’t have sand bags in the woods. I have spent the last 41 years hunting and have been able to take harvest a lot of deer in that time. My Dad always said that the hunting was always good, whether you got something or not and that he enjoyed most just being in the woods watching all the animals/birds around him. I am still very passionate about hunting to fill my tag but I find his words to be true as I focus on the things around me when I’m in the woods. What I wouldn’t give for one more day in the woods with him.
Thanks Dad!
John
